Specify the coordinates you do have.

Try GPSvisualizer to convert

First, check the settings on the GPS. There are many formats for entering the coordinates. I think that the default in the etrex is degrees minutes seconds (dd mm ss.ss). Google uses decimal degrees (ddd.dddddd). It is much easier to set your GPS to decimal degrees than convert between the different units.
You also need to change the heading indicator as you input the point. Garmin’s decimal degrees uses N/S/E/Wddd.ddddd but Google uses +/- + is equal to N or E, – is equal to S or W
The transfer cord for the serial interface on the etrex H is expensive from garmin. They used to be a lot cheaper on ebay. Also check for Pfrank to see if they are still in business, they made very good cords.
Using Mapsource (or something like the free USA Photomap program) to transfer points is much easier than entering them directly in the GPS. It also allows you to map the tracks from your travels onto a map.
